ASA National Day of Service Event Schedule

On the ASA National Day of Service, at-risk high school students across the country will gain exposure to the opportunities staffing offers and walk away with improved interview skills and résumés.

Here is the anticipated schedule for each event (taking place in several locations throughout the U.S):

  • Volunteer arrival. Volunteers will arrive 20 minutes prior to the mock interviews to complete any paperwork at the high school and review the day’s schedule and instructions with the event leader from the ASA State Network or affiliated chapter. (20 minutes)
  • Short presentations. The event leader or designee will introduce the students to the staffing industry and, if time allows, answer any questions. (20 minutes)
  • Mock interviews and résumé reviews. ASA will follow the JAG national mock interview protocol to ensure uniformity in the student experience—no matter where the events are taking place. If students don’t have résumés, part of this time will be dedicated to answering any questions about looking and applying for jobs, working with a staffing agency, writing cover letters, dressing for success, and more. (30 minutes)
  • Closing remarks and volunteer departure. Students will be asked to share what they learned with their peers and the volunteers, and the event leader will provide closing remarks. (20 minutes)

Total Volunteer Time Commitment:~90 minutes (plus travel time)

Note: The start and end times for each event will vary based on individual classroom scheduling needs.

Volunteers will also be asked to participate in an on-demand 10-minute training session at their convenience prior to the ASA National Day of Service.

Please note: There are limited volunteer spots for this opportunity. Students will be matched with a volunteer for one-on-one resume review and mock interviews. Please only volunteer for this opportunity if you know you are able to commit. If plans change after you have signed up, please email info@scstaffing.org as soon as possible, as this will affect the number of students that are able to be served.
